Dallas is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and is the ninth most-populous city in the U.S. and the third-largest in Texas after Houston and San Antonio. It is the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the country with approximately 7.5 million people.
In comparing Dallas to Houston, Houston is a more diverse and less segregated city than Dallas. Compared to Dallas, Houston has slightly better quality/variety of restaurants, museums, parks, and performing arts. Houston has a few lakes and is nearby the Gulf of Mexico and its beaches, whereas Dallas has lakes. If you are considering moving to Dallas, the average salary is roughly $60,000.
